Allright! Everything is sound and safe, so I can tell the latest adventure.
We entered Vietnam via the south of Cambodia. As we really did not like the tourist trap that we found Cambodia, it was time for some traveling ‘off the beaten track. I didn’t inform here earlier because it was a bit of an adventure and did not want to get anybody worried.
So what did we do?!?
We went to Saigon and bought a Minsk! A Minsk is a 1950’s Scrambler (125 cc Russian build off road motorcycle). It looked terrible and Vietnamese are not allowed to drive it (They don’t want to anyways). The motorbike came with a big bag of tools and another bag of spare parts. I know what you are thinking and agree we should have gotten money to take it of their hands.
But anyways here we went, together on our new Russian build piece of shit. But it had character and we did not have to go with shitty buses full of other tourists and move from one place to another following the LP.
The first three days were terrible! We wanted to drive 300 km to Dalat a nice city in the mountains. It took us 4 days. Our piston got smashed 2 times (I drove it way to fast). And our cog of the first gear missed 5 teeth. After Dalat it went all fine and even these breakdowns were a great way to meet people.
The three of us (Minsk, Boryana and Jerry), crossed the Central Highlands. We drove on the Ho Chi Minh trail. This trasil is the same used in the American Vietnam war to resupply the Vietcongf in the South.
The road was amazing I haven’t seen so many mountains in my live. I can say im cured from myt fear of hights and it was amazing.
The bike is now on a train to Hanoi, where im gonna sell it again.
Allright signing of in Hue. My expertise is acquired to help another adventurous cpouple with their Minsk.

Pas goed op elkaar.
